Frequently Asked Questions

Q. What is different about Cigarettes.Euro-Cig and why should I purchase online?

A.Our products are guaranteed to be of the highest quality and manufactured only by the original manufacturer. Unlike other internet sites that sell cigarettes online, we offer the best products on the market today and at great prices. Since we receive all our products directly from the manufacturer, we can supply the best cigarettes at the lowest prices. We guarantee our customers satisfaction every time and with minimum hassle and effort in online ordering.

Q. Is selling cigarettes online and shipping the cigarettes through international mail legal?

A. It is legal within the conditions of the international postal regulations and standards, which we fully comply by.

Q. How are legitimate cigarettes sold at such low costs?

A. Our prices meet those of duty free prices because we sell them close to production price. Therefore our prices are cheaper than your local retail price. These products are duty paid.
We do not carry the cigarettes, nor do we sell cigarettes. We provide a service at which we will purchase cigarettes for you, the consumer at a very cheap price!

Q.
Are you selling these cigarettes?
A. No. We neither carry the cigarettes sold on this site nor do we directly sell the cigarettes. We have an established relationship with a bonded warehouse in Switzerland that allows us the best pricing. We are simply providing a service to our customers by purchasing the cigarettes at discount prices.

Q. Do duty taxes always apply to imported cigarettes?

A. As long as only one carton of cigarettes (200 cigarettes) is imported, you are not subjected to duty tax. In order to ensure that no duty taxes are applied, we ship out each carton separately to our customers.

Q. By which mail courier are the cigarettes shipped?

A. We ship our cigarettes with standard mail and therefore you may receive your order either to your address or to your local post office (depending on the services provided by your local post office). If the package has arrived to your local post office, they will inform you to collect your parcel at no additional cost.

Q. How does the shipment of each carton separately effect the time of arrival?

A. Though your entire order is shipped out on the same day, because each carton is packaged separately, there may be more than one arrival day but within the 2 to 4 time period.

Q. Why aren't all the cartons shipped together in one package?

A. Each carton is shipped separately so that the value and weight of each package does not exceed the international guidelines.

Q. Can you guarantee that I will not be subjected to duty tax?

A. It is very unlikely (especially in the U.S.) that you will be subjected to duty tax; however there may be cases in some countries that the international postal regulations and standards do not apply.

Q. If I am charged duty tax and reject the package, will I immediately receive a refund?

A. We will reimburse you for the entire order amount when the package has been returned and received in our warehouse.

Q. What is the Credit Card ID?

A. The card ID (as shown in the pictures below) is a 3 digit security code that is printed on the back of your credit card. The card ID protects you from online fraud by verifying that you are in possession of the card you are attempting to use.

SECURITY
To ensure the best security for our customer's, we guarantee that all information is transmitted with the most secure and efficient encryption protocol available, 128 bit SSL. In addition, customer's must provide their credit card ID number, the 3 digit security code on the back of the credit card in order to verify that the credit card being used is in the possession of the customer; a means used to protect our customer from online fraud.

Q. How am I ensured that the information I place over the internet is secure?

A. We can assure our customers that only the most advanced technology in internet security is used on our site. SSL (Secure Socket Layer) secures data on TCP/IP networks such as the internet, through encryption, authentication, and integrity for all communications between our consumers and the web server.

Q. What if the brand of cigarettes I am interested in is not listed as one of the options?

A. Here at Cigarettes.Euro-Cig we always do our best to provide the products that our customers desire. Therefore, if you can't find the brand you're looking for, please e-mail us and we will look into supplying your preferred brand of cigarettes.

Q. How can the cigarettes on sale at Cigarettes.Euro-cig.com be tax free?

A. The cigarettes on sale at Cigarettes.Euro-cig.com can be tax free because they are sold from a BONDED WAREHOUSE. This term is used to indicate goods which are not subjected to taxes in the source country. See: General Info Customs for further information.

Q. What should I do if I have to pay duty tax to receive the goods?

A. This is your own decision. Since we cannot guarantee that duty tax will not be charged world-wide, you can:
   - pay duty tax and collect the parcel;
   - reject the parcel which will be returned to us and ask for your money back.
See: General Info - 100% Money Back Guarantee

Q. Do I have to pay mailing expenses if I return the parcel to the sender?

A. No. You do not have to pay when you reject a parcel. Cigarettes.Euro-cig.com will cover the costs.

Q. Can I buy large amounts of cigarettes at Cigarettes.Euro-cig.com?

A. The number of cigarettes that can be purchased at Cigarettes.Euro-cig.com is left to the discretion of the users who must be aware of the laws in force in their country and the sanctions in which they may incur if their intention is to resell "duty free" cigarettes.

Q. In other words, will I commit a criminal offense if I buy more than for personal use?

A. No. Purchasing in itself is not a criminal offense. A regular customs declaration is attached to each parcel stating the contents and the corresponding value. Since these mailed consignments for value, weight and dimensions are not subject to customs, the declaration is a regular importation request.

Cigarette Facts for Discount Cigarette Smokes

Cigarette Ingredients
The primary ingredient in most cigarettes is tobacco. The typical American blend cigarette consists of about 90% tobacco in the "filler" portion, which excludes the filter. Cigarettes may also contain a variety of additional ingredients to enhance flavor and preserve freshness. These ingredients vary by manufacturer.

Tar & Nicotine Facts
Marlboro Full Flavor 100's Filter Box
Tar 15 Milligrams (NY State - 16 Milligrams)
Nicotine 1.1 Milligrams (NY State - 1.2 Milligrams)
US cigarette manufacturers measure the average tar and nicotine content of various cigarette styles with special smoking machines that draw smoke from cigarettes under laboratory conditions. Any tar and nicotine in the smoke is captured by the machine and measured. The resulting data is printed on cigarette packs as the average per-cigarette tar and nicotine yield.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.
-- The merger of cigarette-makers R-J Reynolds and Brown and Williamson is breathing life into a nearly abandoned plant.

The Whitaker Park cigarette plant in Winston-Salem will be turning out the first former Brown and Williamson brand on Monday.

A former Brown and Williamson plant in Macon, Georgia, will be shut down by mid-2006.

Eventually, all the combined company's cigarettes will be produced in Forsyth County, the home county for Reynolds.

Whitaker Park, which opened in 1961 at a cost of 32 (m) million dollars, covers more than a (m) million square feet and once was the crown jewel of Reynolds' cigarette production.

It once bustled with two-thousand workers before sliding into disuse as owner R-J Reynolds Tobacco cut jobs and shifted production to a more modern plant in northern Forsyth County, leaving the Whitaker Park floor nearly empty.

CHICAGO (CBS.MW)
-- Even more American smokers will soon be coughing up extra cash for their favorite brands as Reynolds American will boost prices on some cigarettes, following a similar move by Philip Morris USA last week.

During afternoon trading Monday, Reynolds American (RAI: news, chart, profile) unit R.J. Reynolds said that it is increasing the list price on certain brands and will reduce retail discounts on others.

In a written release, the company said "these pricing actions were related to higher costs due to the recent enactment of federal tobacco buyout legislation and increasing rates from master settlement agreement obligations."

Reynolds expects to be on the hook for some $2.8 billion in expenses related to the buyout and settlement agreement in 2005.

Similar to Philip Morris' move late last week, the company is reducing the discount-to-retailers by about 10 cents per pack on its top sellers, which include Camel, Kool, Winston and Salem. At the same time, the list price of various brands, including Viceroy and Camel non-filters will increases between 3 cents and 6 cents per pack while it will actually drop for one -- Misty.

A spokesman said the actions were "entirely independent" of those made by its archrival.

Shares of Reynolds, formed last summer by the merger of R.J. Reynolds and Brown & Williamson, gained 1.6 percent to close at $77 Monday.

Late last week, effectively adding a dime a pack to the cost of its top cigarette brands, Philip Morris USA cut its promotional allowances.

The Altria (MO: news, chart, profile) unit said the move to lower its off-invoice promotional allowance to wholesalers, essentially a wholesale discount, from $6.50 to $5.50 per carton will begin Dec. 12 and run through the end of January. It will affect the company's four top brands -- Marlboro, Virginia Slims, Basic and Parliament.

Shares of Altria were up 1.2 percent at $59.85.

CHICAGO (CBS.MW)
-- In a move that should effectively add a dime a pack to the cost of some top cigarette brands, Philip Morris USA is about to cut its promotional allowances.

The Altria Group (MO: news, chart, profile) unit said the move to lower its off-invoice promotional allowance to wholesalers, essentially a wholesale discount, from $6.50 to $5.50 per carton will begin Dec. 12 and run through the end of January.

The measure affects the company's four top brands -- Marlboro, Virginia Slims, Basic and Parliament, which together accounted for roughly 46 percent of the total U.S. market at the end of last year.

Philip Morris sold about 9.3 billion packs of smokes in the United States in 2003, down more than 2 percent from the previous year. The vast majority of its sales come from those four brands. The company has faced an inexorable decline in domestic volume in recent years as more smokers quit, switch to cheaper brands or die.

The company would not give any specific reason for the price hike, the first since 2002.

"We always look at the marketplace and determine if promotional spending will allow us to achieve our business objectives," said Dana Bolden, a spokesman for the tobacco titan.

The company also declined to comment on the potential financial impact, or whether the cost increase would inevitably lead to consumers coughing up more cash for the favorite brands.

In addition, Bolden said the move was "not related" to testimony earlier this week in the government's racketeering trial against the industry. On Wednesday, a University of Illinois economist told the federal court that tobacco companies have increasingly relied on discounting that inevitably encourages more underage smoking.

Robert Campagnino, an analyst with Prudential, increased his operating profit forecast for this year and his earnings view for next on the news.

"We expect that the lower rate will continue beyond January," he wrote in note to investors Friday. "This is the first sign of 'life' in the U.S. cigarette market since March of 2002 (the date of the last wholesale price increase)."

The company, he continued, "receives the same benefit had it taken its wholesale price up by $1 per carton so we expect this reduction in promotional spending will be the 2005 'price increase.'"

Shares of Altria ended the day with gain of 29 cents at $59.14 Friday.

U.S. cigarette makers spent $12.5 billion—11 percent more than the previous year—promoting and advertising their products in 2002, the Federal Trade Commission reported. Most of the money was in the form of discounts to retailers and wholesalers. Combined spending on newspaper, magazine, outdoor, point-of-sale and direct-mail advertising declined from last year.
